ONLINE - ALBERTA BASIC SECURITY TRAINING (ABST) - $250.00The ONLINE ALBERTA Basic Security Training (ABST) is theory-based and skills-based 40 hour program designed to provide mandatory training to those that wish to be security professionals in Alberta. SEGI's online ABST program exceeds government standards. Upon course completion our students will be trained to evaluate, diffuse and control a variety of potentially confrontational encounters, and properly document incidents. Our students will also learn about the Security Industry, the Canadian Legal System, basic security and communication procedures, documentation and evidence, emergency response procedures, health and safety, and hazard assessment.

The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is Canada's national hazard communication standard. The key elements of the system are cautionary labelling of containers of WHMIS "controlled products", the provision of material safety data sheets (MSDSs) and worker education and training programs.
