Register as an Individual

If you do not belong to a health information Trustee organization that has an organizational account with this program, or if you plan to join one at a later date, or if you are an independently practicing health professional or student, you may register here as an individual. As an individual, you will:

• be able to register for any version of the program, or any combination of versions.
• be emailed your login ID and password once your registration is complete.
• receive appropriate access code for the version(s) you have selected, which will be valid for one year past the date it was issued to you.
• be able to change which company you are associated with.
• receive a unique, verifiable Certificate of Completion upon the successful completion of any program version.
• be able to reprint any certificate for up to one year past the date it was issued.
• receive notification from the program system when any certificate is due to expire and retraining maybe required.

Select Courses
	Direct PHI Version This Direct PHI version provides an in-depth view of the principles and requirements of PHIA, and how it relates to those that directly collect, access or use personal health information while performing their job duties.
	Indirect PHI Version This Indirect course version need not be taken if the Direct PHI course version has been completed. This shorter course version provides an overview of the key principles and requirements of PHIA, and how it relates to those who may, but would not normally, work with personal health information (PHI). It is intended that this version be completed by staff that normally would not directly collect, access or use PHI while performing their job duties, but MAY come across PHI indirectly.
	Administrator Version This supplementary Administrator version provides an overview of the policy and procedural requirements of PHIA, and how it relates to the work that health care managers and health information system administrators do. It is intended that this version be completed by health care staff supervisors, managers, policy decision makers and IT administrators, and may be completed in conjunction with the Direct PHI version.
